Un des problèmes sur ESXi est l'usage de la capacité totale des disques créés. Une VM auquel vous attribuez 50Go va<br />
utiliser cette espace dans votre datastore.<br />
Afin de contourner cette limitation, il est possible de créer les disques thin depuis la console.<br />
<br />
Première chose à faire si ce n'est déjà fait : [[Activation ssh sur ESXi]]<br />
<br />
Ensuite, de la console :<br />
mkdir /vmfs/volumes/<vmfs_id>/my_vm<br />
vmkfstools -c 50G -d thin /vmfs/volumes/<vmfs_id>/my_vm/diskthin.vmdk<br />
Il est aussi possible de cloner (=>migrer) un disque existant et de lui donner la propriété thin.<br />
vmkfstools -i /vmfs/volumes/<vmfs_id>/my_vm/mydisk.vmdk -d thin /vmfs/volumes/<vmfs_id>/my_vm/mydiskTHIN.vmdk</div>
